Genoa Weather, When to Go and Genoa Climate Information
(Genoa / Genova, Liguria, Italy, IT)
Genoa is located on the western Mediterranean, in the shelter of the surrounding hills and mountains. Consequently, the city boasts a climate to be envied, with warm, dry summers where temperatures rarely feel uncomfortably hot, and mild winters. Indeed, Genoa's favourable climate and sunny weather has attracted visitors for hundreds of years.

However, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable during the rest of the year and visitors should bear this in mind when preparing for their stay in Genoa.
Genoa Weather and Climate: Seasonal Variations / When to Go - Genoa, Italy, IT
For many visitors, the best time of year to visit Genoa is the spring, when the climate is especially pleasant. In May, in particular, the sea is warm enough for swimming and the summer crowds have yet to arrive.
The summer months in Genoa are mostly hot and dry, with up to ten hours of sunshine a day. In July and August, the average daytime temperature is a warm 26°C / 79°F. Even at nighttime, temperatures usually remain around a comfortable 18°C / 64°F, making it possible to enjoy dining outside in the evening.
Autumn weather starts relatively late in Genoa. In October, temperatures can remain as high as 19°C / 65°F. It is during November that weather starts to turn more autumnal, with cooler temperatures during both the day and night. November is also the time of year when Genoa experiences its highest levels of rainfall.
Winters in Genoa tend to be relatively dry, mild and sunny, although visitors will inevitably also experience some periods of cloudy and a cooler climate in general. Temperatures very rarely dip below freezing, so visitors are unlike to experience frosty weather or snow. In January, Genoa records an average temperature of about 8°C / 46°F to 10°C / 50°F.
